Wakefield Acoustics extend facility after sales influx

WAKEFIELD ACOUSTICS

Made in Yorkshire member Wakefield Acoustics, has extended its operations into a second, larger manufacturing facility nearby to the existing facility. The space that is approximately 12,000sq ft bigger than their primary facility will be used to carry out traditional manufacturing for acoustic products. With strong sales in their acoustic container product lines used for critical power solutions, Wakefield Acoustics will use the original facility to build and manufacture these products - specifically for the booming UK data centre industry. The extension to the manufacturing footprint follows acquisition and investment by CECO Environmental based in Dallas, Texas, who are a leading environmentally focused, diversified industrial company whose solutions protect people, the environment and industrial equipment.

Founded on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction, Wakefield Acoustics has been at the forefront of designing, manufacturing, and installing advanced noise control systems. The company's extensive product range includes acoustic enclosures, screens, barriers, and silencing equipment, tailored to meet the unique needs of various industrial applications. Wakefield Acoustics’ commitment to quality is evident in its meticulous attention to detail and rigorous testing procedures. Each product is engineered to deliver optimal performance, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and regulations. The company’s dedication to innovation is reflected in its continuous investment in research and development, enabling the creation of cutting-edge solutions that address emerging challenges in noise control.

In the company’s most recent developments, they have found high demand in the data centre industry - supplying acoustic containers for critical back-up power. A data centre stores and shares applications and data. Since the societal takeover of smartphones and the need for cloud storage and applications etc, there are thousands of data centres around the world - 513 of them in Britain alone. Whilst the computer based hubs usually draw their energy from the national grid, back up power is required and is usually driven by diesel engines - which is where Wakefield Acoustics(WA) containers come in demand. Rob Lomax, Sales Manager at WA said: “Due to our high level of work in the data centre industry for our range of acoustic containers, we have dedicated an entire facility just to produce these products.”

In addition to its latest developments in the digital data world, Wakefield Acoustics is deeply committed to sustainability and community engagement. The company was recently acquired by CECO Environmental - a firm dedicated to offering environmental solutions to industry. Rob added: “Being part of CECO Environmental also gives us a wider platform to work with businesses globally, to provide our noise control technologies, providing protection for people and the environment.”

With a steadfast focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability, Wakefield Acoustics is well-positioned to navigate the evolving demands of the industrial noise control market. As it continues to set new benchmarks in the industry, the company remains a proud advocate of the values and aspirations that define the Made in Yorkshire community.
