Oliver Selby Steps into BARA Chairman Role
Oliver Selby, Head of Sales, FANUC UK, has stepped into the role of Chairman at BARA.
BARA (British Automation and Robot Association) provides a voice for the UK Robot and Automation Industry, promoting the use of, and assisting in the development of Industrial Robots and Automation in British industry.
Oliver is a longstanding and vocal supporter of the UK automation sector, and and advocate for UK manufacturing. In his role as Chair, he intends to drive the association’s activities forward, supporting BARA’s aim to increase automation uptake in the UK while placing members’ needs firmly front and centre.
One of Oliver’s key pledges is to ensure the association delivers value to its members. “I am excited to bring my knowledge, experience and passion for automation to a wider audience. I will focus on delivering value to all facets of the BARA membership and its stakeholders – from OEM robot manufacturers and system integrators to companies in the supply chain, academic institutions and High Value Manufacturing Catapults."
Oliver continues: “It is so important to understand the challenges that UK manufacturers face – particular SMEs. At BARA, we will endeavour to offer the right tools to UK manufacturers, whatever their size, to ensure they can make the right automation choices for their business, with the right partners, and with the right technology, to futureproof their manufacturing operations."
