Midlands Manufacturer Join MIM to Learn and Share Best Practices

Advanced Surface Treatments

Coventry based Advanced Surface Treatments has joined Made in the Midlands to network with like minded businesses and benefit from being part of the groups networking and best practice events. As major champions of Midlands Manufacturing, the firm is ready to be an active member of the group in search of mutual growth and improvement with local suppliers and customers.

Advanced Surface Treatments (AST) are specialist applicators of high-end corrosion inhibiting coatings. First established in 1989, the company which occupies a 25,000 sq ft facility in Coventry that runs 24 hours per day and 7 days per week believes in supporting the community locally, especially manufacturing, and around 90% of their customers and suppliers are based in the Midlands. Their Midlands manufacturing network now encompasses a large diversity of sectors from traditional automotive to construction, mining, defence, rail and power.

AST are a business that pride themselves on relationships and the provision of exceptional service and quality to drive mutual growth.  This commitment has seen them achieve rapid growth and success as more and more businesses seek the advantages of working with committed and responsive partners.

Their latest ventures to support locally has seen them purchase an adjacent 36,000 sq ft unit and invest over £500,000 in new plant and equipment to grow their process scope and support both current and new customer demands.  These projects have reinforced their commitment to local growth by utilising UK suppliers to support UK customers to enhance a supply chain built on an ethos of service and quality that grows for mutual benefit and success.

The firm believes that this philosophy creates a win-win for the involved businesses and the country. Supplying to and from businesses locally means a highly reactive and committed relationship where quality and service can be assured and viably maintained.

AST have proven to be a fitting business to join the Made community, which is highlighted in their reasons for joining. Rob concluded:

“The Made in Group is perfect as it has ready opportunities to interact with groups of people that share the same interest and ambition for growth and success. There are a lot of mutual benefits to be made from companies working together and we look forward to sharing and  learning from fellow manufacturers.”
