Case Study: Made in Yorkshire Drives Collaboration Between CBE+ and CRM

Made In Group

Made in Yorkshire continues to be a catalyst for fostering invaluable business connections and collaborations across the region. We recently caught up with Marie Cooper, CEO of CBE+, and Adam Bradley, Managing Director at Corrosion Resistant Materials (CRM), to discuss their experiences as members and the significant impact the network has had on their businesses.

Sam Sleight of Made in Yorkshire met up with Adam Bradley ahead of CRM’s Backing Britain interview. During said catch up, Adam praised the value of the network, stating, "We have been a Made in Yorkshire member for 2 years now and it has been a fantastic experience”. He went on to say, “we have built strong friendships with fellow members and have been to collaborate with several on projects. One key relationship we have built over the past two years has been with Marie and CBE+”.

When Sam caught up with Marie Cooper of CBE+, she reflected on their long-standing partnership with Made in Yorkshire, "We've been members for seven years, and the platform has been fantastic for connecting us with like-minded businesses”. Echoing Adam’s sentiments, one of the most impactful connections Marie has made during CBE+’s time as a member is with Adam Bradley at CRM. “Our relationship started at a recording for the 'Our Finest Hour' podcast and quickly grew into a collaborative partnership”, recalled Marie. She elaborated, “through Made in Yorkshire, we've been able to source exotic materials locally from CRM, which has been crucial for some of our projects”.

Adam seconded the nature of their relationship, “We have benefited from being able to support CBE+ with their material requirements and have also enjoyed being able to use CBE+ for our machining work”.

Having met one another at the podcast recording just over a year back, it didn’t take long for them to bond over their shared Barnsley roots and as Marie said, they “got on like a house on fire”. The partnership grew from strength to strength from there, “through other Made in Yorkshire events such as the Westminster visit, we have built up trust and a very good reciprocal business relationship and friendship”, mentioned Adam.

Concluding this case study nicely, Adam told Sam it was: “a great collaboration which has only got stronger thanks to the team at Made in Yorkshire”.

The experiences of CBE+ and CRM underscore the broader impact of Made in Yorkshire beyond mere networking. The platform facilitates meaningful collaborations that extend into real business growth and innovation, even at times when it can be least expected. For instance, Marie also highlighted how MIY connected CBE+ with Tudor International Freight through one of the online Monthly Industry Meetups during the pandemic, providing vital support for their import needs; another collaboration made through MIY that is still standing the test of time today.

At Made in Yorkshire, we are proud to see our members thrive through the connections and collaborations fostered within our network. The stories of CBE+ and CRM are a testament to the power of a strong business community.

We encourage other businesses across Yorkshire to join us and explore the many opportunities our network offers.
