Barkers Security Engineering Joins Made in the Midlands to Build New Manufacturing Connections

Barkers Security Engineering

We’re pleased to join Made in the Midlands.

At Barkers Security Engineering, we combine manufacturing heritage with modern security innovation, designing and producing high-security perimeter protection systems from our UK base in Stoke-on-Trent.

With strong engineering roots and decades of manufacturing expertise behind us, we have grown to become a trusted name in perimeter security, supporting a wide range of sectors with a particular focus on data centres, utilities, critical national infrastructure, and other high-risk environments where protection is business-critical.

Our role within UK manufacturing is centred around protecting people, assets, and operations. We deliver engineered solutions including high-security fencing, gates, barriers, and crash-rated systems designed to defend sites against unauthorised access and evolving security threats.

What sets us apart is our end-to-end approach. We work closely with customers from the earliest consultation and site assessment stages, through design, manufacture, installation support, and ongoing technical guidance. This ensures every solution is tailored to the exact operational needs, compliance requirements, and risk profile of the site.

Manufacturing in the UK remains a core part of our identity. By producing domestically and maintaining rigorous quality, testing, and performance standards, we help organisations in the UK and overseas strengthen site resilience, achieve compliance, and safeguard continuity in an increasingly demanding world.

Joining Made in the Midlands marks an important step in our continued growth, connecting us with a strong regional network of manufacturers, innovators, and supply-chain partners.

As our Managing Director, Allan Binstead, explains:

“Joining Made in the Midlands was a natural step for us as a UK manufacturer with strong engineering roots. We were particularly drawn to the organisation’s focus on celebrating and strengthening British manufacturing, alongside its commitment to building a collaborative community of like-minded businesses.

As a company that has evolved from traditional manufacturing into a provider of engineered security solutions, we see real value in being part of a network that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and long-term partnerships across sectors.”

As part of the Made in Group network, we’re keen to connect with manufacturers, contractors, and specialist service providers who share our commitment to engineering quality and long-term partnership. This includes businesses operating in infrastructure, energy, advanced manufacturing, logistics, and data centres, as well as fabricators, steel specialists, installers, and project delivery teams involved in major industrial projects.

We’re looking forward to building strong relationships across the manufacturing community and contributing to the network as we continue to grow.
