Airmaster Managing Director Lisa Pogson Honoured at Made in Group GREAT100 Celebration in London
Airmaster is proud to announce that Managing Director Lisa Pogson has been recognised at the Made in Group GREAT100 celebration event held in London last week, acknowledged for her exceptional leadership, commitment to people development, and her outstanding contribution to the future of UK industry. The GREAT100 initiative celebrates individuals who are shaping manufacturing through innovation, mentorship and positive cultural change, qualities embodied in Lisa’s leadership every day.
Lisa, a driving force behind Airmaster’s evolution into a proudly employee-owned business, has built a culture centred on people, projects and progress. Her leadership blends commercial focus with humility, humour and deep care for her team, values that have become defining strengths of Airmaster’s identity.
Under her guidance, Airmaster achieved financial independence at the end of 2023, a milestone that strengthens its long-term stability as an employee-owned business. At the same time, the company has delivered major engineering projects, including a £4 million Defence sector contract and a significant retrofit project for AESSEAL, one of Yorkshire’s leading manufacturers.
Yet it is Lisa’s people-focused leadership that truly stands out. Her natural warmth, down-to-earth style and commitment to creating a supportive, respectful workplace have resulted in a team that works with pride, purpose and genuine camaraderie described fondly as “a dysfunctional family in the best way”.
Lisa’s recognition at the GREAT100 event particularly celebrates her excellent work in supporting early-career talent. She is a passionate advocate for young people, working with local schools, charities and partners to raise awareness of engineering careers. Her mentorship of apprentices, including the widely celebrated early-career success of designer and STEM Ambassador Max Brough, has strengthened Airmaster’s commitment to developing the next generation of engineers.
The Made Futures Award category, under which Lisa was honoured, recognises those who educate, mentor and champion young talent across industry. Lisa’s dedication to nurturing future engineers, despite not being an engineer herself (as her team jokingly reminds her), has made her a relatable, inspiring and highly effective role model.
Airmaster’s growing reputation for delivering complex ventilation, airflow and energy-efficient building systems is closely tied to Lisa’s leadership. As businesses increasingly prioritise sustainability and indoor air quality, Airmaster’s engineering services are becoming more relevant than ever.
Lisa’s influence has ensured that as the company grows, it does so with both heart and high standards, building a business that is as committed to its people as it is to delivering outstanding technical capability.
Commenting on the recognition, Lisa said:
“I’m honoured to be recognised as part of the GREAT100. This reflects the spirit and dedication of the whole Airmaster family. I’m passionate about helping young people see the opportunities in engineering, and I’m proud of how our team supports the next generation with enthusiasm, kindness and belief.”
