Airmaster is proud to announce that Max Brough, Design Apprentice at Airmaster, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Rotherham Apprentice of the Year 2025 awards, which this year is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Max, who began his journey with Airmaster partway through his Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship, has since transitioned into a design-focused role and is now studying at Level 4 at University Centre Rotherham. Over the last two years, Max has flourished as an integral part of Airmaster’s design team, demonstrating not only exceptional technical skill but a proactive mindset that has made a tangible impact across the business.
From introducing AI tools into the design process to supporting Airmaster’s sustainability goals, Max has consistently gone above and beyond. His drive to improve procedures, coupled with his infectious enthusiasm and professionalism, has earned him respect from colleagues, clients, and peers alike.
Beyond the workplace, Max is a passionate advocate for engineering careers. He has represented Airmaster at regional STEM events, including Get Up to Speed with STEM at Magna Science Adventure Centre, helping to inspire young people to explore opportunities in mechanical services.
Lisa Pogson, Managing Director of Airmaster, commented:
“We are incredibly proud of Max and everything he has achieved. His journey from site engineer to member of our design team shows the power of apprenticeships in unlocking talent and passion. Max brings fresh thinking, curiosity, and a genuine heart to everything he does, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see him recognised at a regional level. We wish Max the very best of luck and congratulate all the shortlisted nominees.”
An Awards Evening will be held at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Thursday 17th July, 2025, where the winners will be announced. The Awards are organised by Rotherham Council’s RiDO Team and the Rotherham Advertiser and are supported by local sponsors. The organisers said, “This year the nominees were of a very high standard, and it was hard for the judges to shortlist, congratulations to all the apprentices and good luck on the night”.
