3 MDs Discuss IoT, International Relationships, Optimising Skills & More

Made In Group

As part of a Virtual Breakfast Morning held on Wednesday 25th January 2023 for members of Made in Group, three business leaders within UK industry shared their inspiring stories with attendees.

Virtual Breakfast Mornings are networking and best practice sharing events, exclusively for members of Made in the Midlands and Made in Yorkshire. Attendees have the chance to learn best practice from 3 hosting speakers, followed by a 30-minute round table discussion on relevant topics.

The speakers for this event were 3 MDs at leading firms: Nigel Maris (Managing Director at Assemtron), Charles Boneham (Managing Director at Boneham & Turner) and Bill Buhler (Managing Director at Rheintacho UK).

Nigel Maris of Assemtron discussed best practice around how to use the Internet of Things (IoT) and industry 4 to create new value streams. Traditional businesses tend to use Industry 4 to monitor disruption in productivity when they occur. Using the latest technology to monitor issues before they occur could help businesses save thousands.

Charles Boneham of Boneham & Turner discussed with attendees the problems and solutions surrounding managing international relationships. Charles spoke about the company's long established relationship with American distributors and how the company maintains this relationship through economic and political challenges. Trustworthy logistics, continuous communication and international office bases play a major part in this best practice.

Bill Buhler of Rheintacho discussed with attendees best practice around optimising skill sets within a business. Bill spoke about the tools Rheintacho uses to optimize the skills of its people. Specifically, Bill touched on succession plans, skills matrix, qualification profiles and potential analysis - how they assess the development abilities of individuals within the organisation.
