CBE+ is a specialist sub-contractor operating from modern, purpose-built facilities in Chesterfield specialising in capabilities across the group in CNC machining, Electroless Nickel Plating, Gears and Metal Testing services. The group was amalgamated by Cooper Brown Enterprises who invested in four separate businesses with the vision of bringing integrated supply chains to diverse global markets including Aerospace, rail, automotive and Oil and Gas. The business recently achieved AS9100 certification across the business and as a result has been sponsored by Leonardo Helicopters
in working towards obtaining SC21 accreditation.
The company recently undertook the challenge to machine critical components for ventilators, a new product in an extremely short timeframe to support the UK NHS throughout the COVID 19 pandemic. Fabio Cosenza, Group Business Development  Manager said: “We were honoured to have received a request to help the national effort by producing these parts: I knew we had to make it happen. We created additional capacity to machine these components on time, we are conscious of how important they are to the nation and the team worked around the clock 7 days a week to help keeping up with demand. I salute the flexibility and commitment of our staff who have dedicating days, nights and weekends to this project.”
Joe Scamp, Lead Machinist on the #VentilatorChallengeUK project, said: “Everyone sees the news and knows the demand for ventilators right now, and the repercussions of the NHS not having enough. What we have been doing will effectively help save lives now and, in the future.”
Despite pressures from this busy period, such as increased demand and travel restrictions imposed by the Government, on June 1st CBE+ successfully implemented a new Group-wide ERP system, EFACS E/8 written by Nottingham-based Exel Computing Systems Plc. The new system is a key component of the Group’s strategy of continuous investment and consolidation of internal supply chains.
